Our Story

Our founders Tara Beatty, a special education teacher, and Keri Climie, a speech and language pathologist created the non-profit Sound Life Connections Inc. with the mission of providing employment and social training for young adults with disabilities. The WAVE is the next step in this journey. WAVE stands for Work, Advocate, Value, and Empower. We believe in creating a supportive environment where every individual can thrive.

WAVE is dedicated to empowering young adults with disabilities by providing them with valuable job experience. Our mission is to foster independence and confidence, helping each individual to reach their full potential in the workplace. Join us in creating a supportive community that champions inclusivity and growth for all. Together, we can make a difference!

Our Mission

The WAVE's mission is to create an inclusive community in which people with disabilities feel welcomed and valued through employment and social opportunities.

...

The WAVE will provide employment and social training for young adults with disabilities so they can be employed competitively and participate in all aspects of their community.

...

Through an inclusive business model, The WAVE will operate, train and employ adults with intellectual disabilities, autism and other developmental disabilities. Our mission is to expand awareness of and reduce the 80% unemployment rate of individuals with developmental disabilities. We will create a space that fosters acceptance and awareness of people with disabilities in our community.
